Network storage error affecting multiple servers

The problem affected multiple servers. Data recovery process is almost completed.
Service is expected to be fully recovered with no data loss within an hour.

RAID failure affecting server SV2 MAIL2 SV65

Shared servers SV2 Mail2 SV65 experience outage since 9AM EST 25th November due to extremely slow IO on Raid Storage device. Upon investigation we find that one HDD on the Raid storage failed. We promptly replace the failed HDD and RAID starts rebuilding.

More problem occurs when Raid controller reports drive timeout on new HDD and keeps restarting rebuilding process in the last 8 hours. There is no sign of RAID rebuild can complete anytime soon when disk I/O during RAID rebuild is too slow for server operation.

We have decided to migrate data to new cluster. The process would take 24-48 hours to transfer over 1TB of data.

Emergency maintenance: SV8 Hard Disk failure

We have emergency maintenance on SV8 because of hard disk failure. Entire /home partition suddenly becomes unreadable.



We try to run disk check but there are too many errors that it is not possible to fix. The hard disk turns to read only mode shortly after restarting the server. As a result we have to transfer all websites to a different server. Transfer process takes longer time than usual because of slow disk IO on the failing HDD. Transfer is 90% completed and should be finished at 06/03/2014 4AM EST. If your websites are hosted on server SV8 and use default nameservers ns1.premiumdns.net ns2.premiumdns.net, you do not need to do anything. Please open support ticket if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you.
