RAID failure affecting server SV2 MAIL2 SV65

Shared servers SV2 Mail2 SV65 experience outage since 9AM EST 25th November due to extremely slow IO on Raid Storage device. Upon investigation we find that one HDD on the Raid storage failed. We promptly replace the failed HDD and RAID starts rebuilding. More problem occurs when Raid controller reports drive timeout on new HDD and keeps restarting rebuilding process in the last 8 hours. There is no sign of RAID rebuild can complete anytime soon when disk I/O during RAID rebuild is too slow for server operation. We have decided to migrate data to new cluster. The process would take 24-48 hours to transfer over 1TB of data. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Read more » | |
